FAQ

There is never a stupid question, so if we haven't answered yours already on our website or in the questions below, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are glad you have questions, you need to be well-informed to make good decisions and we are here to help.
-
Who can see an osteopath?Anyone can see an osteopath. We treat all ages, from the tiniest newborn to someone who remembers the first world war. We often see women who are wanting to become pregnant, during all stages of pregnancy and immediately post partum. Indeed, a new mother will often have problems for up to 18 months after childbirth and even longer if she chooses to continue to breastfeed beyond this time. People with concurrent and multiple conditions, those with anxiety or stress, workplace and occupational injuries, professionals, students, children and babies, athletes (elite and wannabes alike), DIYers and keen gardeners, and those with acute and chronic pain or needing end of life care are all welcome.
-
Do I need a referral? No. Although we love to hear that you have been referred by friends, family or another medical professional, we don't actually need a specific referral for you to see us.
-
Do I need an ACC claim number? No. If you have an injury which is a result of an accident which ACC recognises, we are able to register a claim for you. We also provide treatment independent of ACC so you don't have to have an ACC claim number at all to see us.
-
Can you provide treatment under my existing ACC number?Yes. If your claim is already registered and is still current, in most cases we are able to treat you under your existing claim number.
